Headache is the most common complaint reported by hypertensive patients and is very disturbing in carrying out daily activities. Headache is caused due to an increase in blood pressure resulting in a decrease in oxygen to the brain which results in anaerobic metabolism and produces lactic acid and ultimately stimulates pain stimulation. Pain management is done to handle pain so that patients feel safe and comfortable, which can be done through pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions such as autogenic relaxation, acupressure, back massage, foot massage, warm compresses and slow deep breathing. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to know the analysis of nursing care hypertensive patients on pain nursing problems with a combination of giving back masage and acupressure therapy. The method in writing this scientific paper is a case study involving three patients hypertension with the provision of combined interventions of back massage therapy and acupressure. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation studies. The nursing problem found was pain associated with clinical manifestations of hypertension. The main intervention is pain management by providing a combination of back massage therapy and acupressure which is done once a day for 30 minutes and repeated for two days. The combination of back massage therapy and acupressure is effective in reducing complaints of headache pain that is experienced by the third.
Tisna AstantiIGAA Sherlyna PrihandaniNLP Dian Yunita Sari

One of the health challenges often experienced by children is fever, which can be a symptom of various serious diseases such as typhoid fever. Pharmacological management of fever often causes side effects, so safe and effective non-pharmacological alternatives are needed. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of providing non-pharmacological therapy, namely Tepid Sponge compress and topical shallots as independent nurse actions to overcome hyperthermia in patients. The intervention was carried out on three patients for three consecutive days, with a duration of 35 minutes per session. The results showed a decrease in hyperthermia in all patients, accompanied by increased comfort and ability to do activities. When tepid sponge compress and topical shallots are combined, they work synergistically through two main physiological pathways. external heat release (Heat Loss Mechanism) where tepid sponge compress helps lower temperature through evaporation of water on the skin and shallots accelerate heat release through stimulation of sweat and capillary vasodilation. This combination helps reduce the inflammatory reaction which is the main cause of hyperthermia. The combination of tepid sponge compress and topical red onion works synergistically in lowering body temperature through the mechanism of evaporation, circulation stimulation, and anti-inflammatory effects. This therapy has been proven safe, effective, and potential as an alternative in non-pharmacological pain management with the additional benefit of improving the patient's quality of life. It is hoped that this therapy can be implemented in other pediatric patients.
Ni Made Surya Dharma YuniIGAA Sherlyna PrihandhaniNLP Dian Yunita Sari

One of the factors that often hinders medication adherence is unwanted side effects or interactions with other medications that are being used. Pharmacists have in-depth knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions, so they can provide information to patients on how to manage those side effects. This study aims to systematically review the role of pharmacists in medication adherence of hypertensive patients. The literature search will be carried out in March 2025. Systematic reviews are carried out by searching for articles from Google Scholar. Keywords for searching this article include "intervention" or "pharmacist" or "compliance" or "taking medication" or "hypertension". Of the 580 articles collected through an initial search on Google Scholar, the author identified 4 articles regarding the role of pharmacists in medication adherence of hypertensive patients. Adherence to medication in hypertensive patients is essential to control blood pressure and prevent further complications. Pharmacists have a very strategic role in improving patient compliance by providing clear education, monitoring medication use, dealing with side effects, providing motivational support, and collaborating with other health workers.
Yusnita Julyarni AkriDiny Puspitasari

Cesarean section procedures performed under spinal anesthesia allow patients to remain conscious during surgery; however, they often induce anxiety due to the stressful environment of the operating room. If not properly managed, anxiety can negatively impact the patient’s physiological stability and interfere with the smooth execution of the surgical procedure. Music therapy is a non-pharmacological approach that has been proven to be safe, comfortable, and effective in reducing anxiety levels. This study utilized a case report method, implementing a 60-minute music therapy intervention delivered through earphones during the surgical process. Observational results indicated a significant decrease in the patient’s anxiety level, as measured by the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory score, which dropped from 55 (moderate anxiety) to 31 (mild anxiety). Additionally, the patient’s heart rate decreased from 102 bpm to 92 bpm, and blood pressure from 130/84 mmHg to 120/88 mmHg, while the respiratory rate remained stable at 20 breaths per minute. These findings suggest that music therapy is effective in reducing anxiety in patients undergoing cesarean section with spinal anesthesia.
Tuhu SetyoraharjoNimsi MelatiSudarto Sudarto
