https://assyifa.forindpress.com/index.php/assyifa/article/view/201

The use of social media with content on achievements, lifestyles, and successes of others on social media gives rise to a tendency to make social comparisons that cause psychological stress, insecurity, and uncertainty about the future, and have the potential to affect mental health conditions, especially in Gen-Z who are in the early adulthood phase who are vulnerable to experiencing quarter-life crisis. This study aims to determine the relationship between social media use and quarter-life crisis in Gen-Z students at Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University. The study used a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 1,312 and the sample was 307 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire on social media use and quarter-life crisis that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that most respondents had low social media use and moderate quarter-life crisis. Spearman rank test results indicate a significant relationship between social media use and quarter-life crisis (p = 0.000; r = -0.439), indicating a moderately significant relationship between social media use and quarter-life crisis in Gen-Z students. Higher social media use leads to lower levels of quarter-life crisis. Future research is recommended to examine other factors that may influence quarter-life crisis and employ different research designs to obtain more comprehensive results.
Ziu KipplyWahidyanti Rahayu HastutiningtyasSirli Mardianna Trishinta

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in the elderly is a chronic health problem that often causes complications, one of which is impaired peripheral tissue perfusion that may lead to decreased mobility, risk of diabetic ulcers, and even amputation. Elderly individuals with comorbidities and genetic factors have a higher risk of peripheral circulation disorders. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that nurses can provide is diabetic foot exercise aimed at improving peripheral blood flow and neuromuscular function of the lower extremities. This scientific paper aims to analyze nursing care in depth in one elderly patient with Diabetes Mellitus, namely Mr. A, who had a history of chronic disease and family factors, with the nursing problem of ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion through the provision of foot exercises. The method used was a case study with a nursing care approach including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed improvement in Mr. A’s peripheral perfusion after diabetic foot exercises were performed for three sessions, with a duration of approximately 15–20 minutes in each session, indicated by reduced tingling complaints, improved acral condition, increased peripheral pulse strength, and increased Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) value. Diabetic foot exercise proved effective as an independent nursing intervention in improving peripheral tissue perfusion in elderly patients with Diabetes Mellitus.
Ni Kade Ayu Puspa PurwasihNi Made Dwi Ayu Martini

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin function or production, which may lead to complications if not properly managed. This paper aims to examine nursing care in two patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus using a case study method based on a systematic nursing process approach.Data were collected through observation, interviews, physical examinations, and documentation studies to formulate nursing diagnoses, including unstable blood glucose levels, ineffective airway clearance, ineffective peripheral perfusion, and hypervolemia. The implementation results showed significant clinical progress, characterized by the stabilization of the patients' general condition and a decrease in Random Blood Glucose (RBG) levels from an initial 298 mg/dL to 186 mg/dL, accompanied by a reduction in complaints of nausea and fatigue. Furthermore, regarding the issue of ineffective airway clearance, patients demonstrated a better ability to expectorate secretions, reduced coughing frequency, and a decrease in adventitious breath sounds such as crackles (rhonchi). The evaluation of nursing care for these two patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus comorbidities indicated clinical improvement meeting the expected outcomes, evidenced by reduced symptoms, more stable vital signs, better-controlled blood glucose levels, and improved respiratory function and secretion clearance, proving that the nursing care provided was effective in enhancing the patients' health status.
Albertha Kurniati HaraiLia Natalia
