Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing non-adherence to antituberculosis medication among tuberculosis patients at Hospital X Malang. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used, involving 58 patients aged ≥18 years with a history of treatment non-adherence. The sampling technique employed was total sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of eight variables: clinical aspects, side effects, knowledge, interaction with healthcare workers, self-confidence, treatment cost, accessibility, and social support. Validity testing was conducted using Pearson correlation, while reliability testing used Cronbach’s Alpha. Descriptive statistical analysis was applied to obtain means, frequencies, and standard deviations. The results indicate that treatment cost, medication accessibility, and side effects were the lowest-scoring variables, making them the primary determinants of non-adherence. This study highlights the need for targeted interventions, including improved medication access, enhanced patient education, and better management of side effects, to ensure treatment success among tuberculosis patients. and reliable. The study concludes that economic constraints and limited service accessibility are key determinants that require targeted attention to improve treatment outcomes.
