Bullying is an experience in which a person feels hurt by the actions of others and fears that the behavior will happen again. Victims generally feel powerless to stop such actions. This study aims to determine the relationship between bullying and the mental health of junior high school students. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and cross-sectional method. The population included all students in grades VII, VIII, and IX at SMP Prajamukti Kosgoro, Banyuwangi Regency, totaling 109 students. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with proportional simple random sampling, resulting in a total sample of 86 students. A questionnaire was used to measure the level of bullying and the students’ mental health conditions. The results showed that most students experienced bullying at a very low level, totaling 34 students (39.5%), while 35 students (40.7%) had good mental health. The Spearman Rank (Rho) correlation test showed a p-value of 0.000, which is smaller than the significance level α (0.000 < 0.05), and the correlation coefficient r was 0.380. Higher levels of bullying tend to be associated with lower mental health conditions among students. These findings highlight the importance of addressing bullying in the school environment as a factor that can affect students’ psychological well-being. There is a significant relationship between the level of bullying and the mental health of junior high school students.
